Ellwood Dental is always committed to your health and safety. We take our sterilization and infection control procedures very seriously to ensure that your health and safety are always protected.
We understand that many of our patients have questions about our safety practices. Please know that we are taking all precautions to ensure our patients’ and staff’s safety as we follow very strict sterilization and infection control procedures in our practice.

With COVID-19 restrictions easing across the country, we continue to prioritize your health and safety. The office always follows the current guidelines put forth by Alberta Health and the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta (CDSA).

• Frequent and repeated hand sanitizing for all patients and staff, with hand sanitizer positioned throughout the clinic
• Enhanced disinfection of contact surfaces
• Treatment rooms are thoroughly disinfected with wipes and all tools are sterilized following each patient visit.
• Enhanced Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available that follows recommended guidelines from Alberta Health and the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta
• Oral suction devices are used for aerosol-producing procedures
• Reduced time spent in the waiting room
• Teledentistry services available for follow-up-or communication that can be done online or through video education
• Online paperwork that can be filled out beforehand from your home on your mobile device

Please be assured that our health and safety plan is very thorough and put in place with your health and safety in mind. It will continue to evolve as we continue to learn how to best manage protocol and this section will be updated regularly and accordingly.
